LEARN. INSPIRE. SUCCESS.
LEARN. INSPIRE. SUCCESS.
Life Purpose Institute offers life coaching courses in Charleston for people who want to actually do something with this, not just collect information and never use it.
You’re learning how to sit with someone, ask the right questions, and help them move forward. That’s the whole point.
We go through the core of coaching… how to run a first session without it feeling awkward, how to get someone talking about what actually matters, and how to help them set goals that aren’t just nice ideas but things they’ll follow through on.
You’ll learn how to work through relationship challenges, career changes, stress, all the things people tend to carry around and avoid dealing with. There’s a big focus on helping clients move past fear and hesitation, because that’s usually what’s in the way.
And just as important, you’ll learn how to stay in the role of a coach. Not therapy. Not advice giving. Real coaching.
We also spend time on how to actually start your practice. Not the fluffy version. The real version. What to say, how to position yourself, how to not overcomplicate it.

Classes are small, so you’re not sitting there feeling like you could disappear and no one would notice. You’ll get a full digital manual that you’ll actually use, along with tools and handouts you can give to clients right away.
You can choose a 3 month, 6 month, or a 5 day intensive, depending on how you want to go through it.
There’s a lot of practice built in. You’re not just listening… you’re doing this. And you’ll get feedback so you know what’s working and what needs adjusting.
You’ll also have time with your instructor to talk through your own direction, especially when it comes to building your practice. That part tends to matter more than people expect.
Once you complete the life coach certification program, you’re certified as a Life Coach or Spiritual Coach. But more than that, you’re not left on your own. There’s an alumni community, ongoing trainings, and continued support if you need it.
This isn’t just for one type of person, but there’s definitely a common thread.
It’s for people who are the one everyone already comes to. The listener. The one giving advice, helping friends think things through, being the steady one in the room… and maybe starting to realize there’s something more there.
It’s also for people who are in the middle of a shift. Career isn’t quite right anymore, or life just doesn’t feel aligned the way it used to. You don’t necessarily have it all mapped out, but you know you’re not staying where you are.
Some come in because they want to build something of their own. A practice, a business, something that gives them flexibility and actually feels meaningful.
And some just feel pulled toward this work and can’t really explain why… they just know it fits.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you start. Most people don’t. That part tends to come as you go.
Charleston has a certain feel to it. If you’ve spent any time there, you know what I mean.
It’s historic, but it’s not stuck. There’s a lot of growth happening… people starting businesses, shifting careers, trying to build a life that actually fits them instead of just going through the motions. And when people start asking those kinds of questions, coaching naturally becomes part of the conversation.
You’ve also got a steady mix of people moving into the area and people who’ve been there forever. That blend creates this interesting dynamic where some are reinventing themselves and others are rethinking what’s next. Both end up in the same place… wanting clarity.
There’s a strong wellness culture too. Not in an overdone way, just people paying more attention to how they feel, how they’re living, what’s sustainable. Coaching fits right into that without feeling like another thing to “fix.”
And then there’s the environment. Being near the water, having access to open space, the slower pace compared to bigger cities… it gives people room to think. That matters more than people realize. When someone finally has space to breathe, that’s usually when things start shifting.
Honestly though, a big part of it is the people. Charleston tends to be more open, more conversational. People are willing to talk, reflect, look at things differently. That makes coaching work better. You’re not forcing anything, you’re meeting people where they already are.
So if you’re training here, you’re not just learning skills in a vacuum. You’re stepping into a place where people are already in that “something needs to change” mindset… even if they haven’t fully said it out loud yet.
Do I need experience to enroll?
No. A lot of people come in brand new. What matters more is that you’re willing to learn and actually practice.
How long does the program take?
You can choose what works for you. There’s a 3 month option, a 6 month option, and a 5 day intensive.
Will I be ready to work with clients after?
Yes… because you’ll be practicing during the program, not just listening. You won’t feel like you’re starting from zero when you finish.
Is this therapy?
No. Coaching is forward focused. You’re helping clients move ahead, not diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
Do you help with starting a business?
Yes. You’ll get guidance on how to set things up, how to talk about what you do, and how to start getting clients without overcomplicating it.
What kind of support is there after I finish?
You’re not on your own. There’s an alumni community, additional trainings, and ongoing support if you need it.
When you’re ready, you can schedule a consultation or look at the class schedule and see what fits.
