Coaching Ideas to Capitalize on the Momentum of 2022

This time of year is particularly exciting for coaches because most people out there are thinking about one of our favorite things – goals! People are feeling motivated to make the coming year different and because nothing changes if nothing changes, they may be looking for the help of a coach to make the coming year a more successful and fulfilling one.

Below are some ideas for providing value to current or potential clients to help create the touch-point and connection to foster a potential coaching partnership/s in the new year.

Year-End Reflection Questions

Growth oriented people (our ideal clients) love learning from their experiences. The end of the year is a time to look ahead and set goals for the new year, but that can’t be done in the most efficient way without learning from the past, what got in our way and how we might better be able to move forward in the months to come.

As coaches, we are great at formulating the insightful questions so this won’t even take much time for you! Once you have your set of questions, you can send this out to clients and/or potential clients in whatever way makes sense to your business. Some ideas are – a social media post, an e-blast, a personalized email, a blog post with more content, a video, etc.

This is a great way to provide value to your audience while also getting them thinking about how you can help them on their personal development journey and achieving their goals in 2022.

Goal Setting Guidance

We all know the weeks to come are all about making resolutions and goals for the new year. Approximately ⅔ of people abandon their New Year’s Resolutions by the end of the first month. How can you provide support in this area? A great opportunity to demonstrate your coaching skills!

Ideas for goal setting guidance include – hosting a workshop/webinar, share content via email or social media with step by step instructions, the “do’s and don’ts’ of goal setting or tips on how to make this year’s resolutions stick, offer a complimentary goal setting coaching session to prospects, etc.

This will offer you the advantage of the like, know and trust factor when it comes to goal setting. If they don’t hire you to help them in their journey of achieving their goals, you will be the first person they think of if they fall off the wagon or are successful in achieving their new goals!

Tapping into Vision

With goals come vision and the new year is a great time to get in touch with the bigger picture. Most of us think of creating vision boards (which is great) but there are other techniques and knowledge we have as coaches that can be utilized during this time.

Some ideas for how to help current or potential clients tap into their vision include – creating/recording a visualization meditation, sharing a hand out with coaching questions to help clients access their vision, host a virtual or in-person vision board creation party, etc.

Offering this piece of the puzzle will have your audience feeling inspired and ready to take on the new year – and with the value you’ve provided, that may mean with the help of you as their coach!
