Is Your Coaching Website Working For You (or against you)?

If you are a life coach, chances are pretty good that you have a business website. It’s basically a prerequisite these days! Any business that wants to attract customers has to have a strong online presence. But having a website up on the Internet isn’t enough. Your website should be working hard for you 24 hours a day. Is your website doing its job?

Many life coaches put up a website, thinking that the calls will just start rolling in. The truth is that a good website will pull clients in and fill up your calendar. So, what makes a good website for a life coach?

Sure, you could spend thousands of dollars on a high-end web designer and a website with all the bells and whistles. Or, you could just include these four must-haves for an effective life coaching website and already be a step ahead of your competitors.

You don’t need to be a web designer. You don’t need to spend a lot of money. You don’t need to have the same website as Tony Robbins or any of the other big, successful life coaches out there. If you include these four things, you will already be off to a great start.

4 Must-Haves for Your Life Coaching Website

A well-defined niche.

A surefire way to get someone to stay on your website is to make it clear from the start exactly what you do and who you serve. Your life coaching website should identify the kinds of clients you work with and the work that you do with them. Ideally, this information should be above the fold, or the area that is visible before you need to start scrolling through a website.

This is a simple step, but also one of the most important. People have short attention spans. If it is not clear from the start if you can help them, they will click away and on to your competitor’s website.

Compelling social proof.

Life coaching can be a significant investment for clients, both emotionally and financially. That is why it is essential to include some social proof or evidence that you can deliver the results you promise. This can take the form of testimonials, blog posts or speaking and professional events that you have participated in.

A reliable way to develop rapport and trust with potential clients is by having a really good About page. The About page on a website can be challenging to write, but don’t skip this step. It is a place for you to tell your potential clients who you are and what you’re all about, in your own words and on your own platform.

A clear menu of services.

Get clear on the services and packages that you offer. Spell them out on your site so potential clients know exactly what they can expect and the results that they can hope to achieve. Clarity on your offerings also helps build trust and positions you as an expert in your field. Take some time to clarify your offerings and communicate them clearly on your website.

A strong call to action.

Okay, so the client likes you. That’s great! But, now what?

Make sure that there is an obvious call to action and next steps for potential clients. Whether that means they contact you for a consultation call or complete an online form, make sure that your website visitors know exactly what to do next to move on in the process.

Are you ready to take your website to the next level?

We know that you are a life coach and not necessarily a website designer. That’s okay! If you include these four must-haves on your life coaching website, you will already be a step ahead of your competition. By following these tips, you will be providing potential clients with the information they need to make a smart decision for themselves.

Remember, your website can be a work in progress. You can always make changes and additions as you are ready. This gives you a lot of flexibility as your business grows, and as you get more comfortable with your coaching practice.
